The New Brunswick division of PCS operates an underground potash and salt mine about 5 km east of Sussex, NB. To manage water infiltration at the mine an enhanced grouting program was undertaken. The mine had previously used a dry mix, supplied in bags, by a local supplier, but with increasing grouting demands, the mine changed their grout supply from bag to bulk. This necessitated the top side construction of a cement and flyash storage and blending facility.

As part of this facility, Team Mixing was contracted to supply twin colloidal mixers capable of producing a continuous supply of a brine based cementitious slurry. This slurry is piped through a borehole to an underground agitation tank where it is eventually blended with sand and injected into the ground.
