The Stillwater Mine is the only significant PGM mine in the western hemisphere, producing palladium and platinum. Stillwater is located in beautiful south-central Montana near Yellowstone National Park.
Team Mixing Technologies supplied and commissioned this compact underground automated system to produce cemented rockfill (CRF). The plant, consisting of several components can be broken down for relocation when necessary. Most electrical, air and water connections are quick-disconnect.
The plant is comprised of a pugmill (mixer), aggregate hopper and conveyor, bulk-bag unloading system for cement delivery, cement storage hopper, cement feed screws, motor control center (MCC) and control system.
At the pugmill, cement and water is introduced at preset feed rates, mixing with the aggregate to produce the finished cemented rockfill. CRF is produced continuously, for a fixed duration, discharging directly into a waiting scooptram bucket.
